Tips Before Using

  1. The electric spindle and the inverter shall suit each other. The specifications and parameter settings of the inverter shall match the nominal parameters of the spindle, and it will burn the spindle if the settings are not correct
  2. Before using a water-cooling spindle, it shall ensure that the cooling cycle system usually works and that running under no cooling conditions is prohibited. The volume of cooling water is calculated as per 1 liter/hw minute. The minimum flow of cooling water is at least 5 liter/minute; the cooling water pipe and the nozzle shall be connected reliably, and there is no leakage.
  3. The cooling liquid shall be clean and grease-free, and the temperature shall be within 5-30℃. The cooling medium shall conduct force cooling when the ambient temperature exceeds 30 C. The precision lathe requires the cooling liquid with a constant temperature of 20±2℃.
  4. During storage and transport of the spindle, the status of high-speed grease inside the bearing will change; the user shall run it at a low speed first by starting from the lowest speed of the spindle for 30 minutes and then 20 minutes for every 3000 rounds. Otherwise, abnormal sounds, noise, heat, and other phenomena will affect the bearing life if the spindle is started directly at a high speed. During long-term storage, the spindle shall run (at low speed) for 15-30minutes once a week at least
  5. Collet, nut and inner taper hole shall be washed clean when installing blades on the spindle to avoid any impact on the precision. The blade handle shall be inserted into the collet more than 15mm.
  6. For daily machining, the spindle shall be warmed up, run for15-20 minutes when the machining speed is reached and then performed precise machining; it is better to stop the spindle for two hours every day to recover its mechanical fatigue and prolong its lifetime
  7. No knocking the end cover of the spindle, No hammering the collet and blade head when removing blades.No. No shocking or colliding during transport, storage and use, especially at the end of the spindle.
  8. The spindle shall run in the designated direction.
  9. The spindle shall be installed and fixed according to the relevant drawings and instructions
  10. The temperature shall be within 20-26℃ if a water-cooling machine is used.
  11. The spindle adopts a vapor lock, and the gas source shall only be used once it has passed the oil-water separator and dry filter. The air pressure is 0.2-0.25MPa, and the filtering precision is 5μm. Otherwise, there will cause damage to the bearing

How To Keep The CNC Machines And CNC Spindles Safe

  1. The CNC router spindle installation method must be reliable and must be equipped with corresponding safety protection devices
  2. During the operation of the CNC spindle, it is forbidden to touch the rotating part. Otherwise, it may cause serious personal injury and property loss

Installation Guide

  • The water-cooled spindle is installed in the machine base, and the spindle shell is slidably matched with the machine base mounting hole. Clamping it in the front and rear bearings is strictly forbidden to prevent the bearing chamber from deforming. If stuck in the bearing, it will cause premature damage. The clamping force should not be too large, and the electric spindle should not be loose when installed in the machine base.

How To Maintain Water-cooled Spindles

  • Use dry compressed air to blow and clean the water-cooled spindle;
  • Remove the water pipe connected to the spindle and clean it with cleaning tools and chemical descaling solution;
  • For severe blockage, you can use a weak acid aqueous solution for flushing.

If your spindle is equipped with a chiller and the chiller is blocked, then scale is the main culprit. In addition to correct operation in daily use, the circulating water should be purified regularly to ensure the cleanliness of the water. This can greatly reduce the risk of blockage of water-cooled spindles and chillers. Some daily maintenance methods can be used:

  1. Check the filter and pipes regularly, and clean or replace the circulating water as needed.
  2. Pre-treat the water tower and tap water to filter their dust and impurities effectively.
  3.  Once blockage is found, physical and chemical methods should be used to clean it in time to prevent excessive accumulation of impurities and scale.

Problems And Solutions Caused By Abnormal Water Flow Rate

  • Water flow rate is too slow

A slow water flow rate will cause the spindle temperature to rise, leading to unstable spindle stroke, decreased precision, and other problems. The solution can be started from the following aspects: check whether the water pump is working correctly, clean the water pipes and filters, and replace the coolant.

  • Water flow rate is too fast

The water flow rate is too fast, which will cause condensation, water rust, and other problems, affecting the spindle’s operation and life. The solution can be started from the following aspects: install a water flow control valve, avoid water pipe bends, and use filter elements to set up water filtration.
